Doc’s Oak, stallone baio, venne alla luce nel 1973 in California nel programma allevatoriale dei coniugi Jensen, i proprietari di Doc Bar, dal grande capostipite Doc Bar, AQHA Champion e AQHA Hall of Fame e da Susies Bay, una fattrice baia da Poco Tivio. Susies Bay era una fattrice nata nel 1955 da Poco Tivio, Aqha Champion e da Susie L da Jess Hank, uno stallone discendente da King e Harmon Baker. Susies Bay ha prodotto sempre con Doc Bar lo stallone Doc’s Solano, AQHA Champion e stallone di successo con figli e discendenti vincitori in Reining, Cutting e Working Cow Horse. Oltre a Docs Solano e Doc’s Oak, dallo stesso incrocio sono nati anche Docs Susie Que (ROM Halter), Docs Sweet Sue Ncha money earner e Docs Marmoset, Ncha Futurity e Derby Champion, AQHA World Junior Cutting Horse Champion e madre dello stallone Smart Little Uno, Ncha money earner e Ncha World Champion Jr cutting Horse, padre dello stallone Smart Little Pepinic, Ncha money Earner.

Doc’s Remedy e Doc’s Oak

Doc’s Oak iniziò l’addestramento a due anni e venne avviato subito al cutting vista l’ottima genealogia e lo spiccato cow sense che dimostrava di avere fin da puledro, Doc’s Oak era infatti uno di quei cavalli che impegnava tutto se stesso pur di non farsi scappare il vitello. Fin dalle prime uscite dimostrò di aver talento e molta forza, piazzandosi nei maggiori eventi e arrivando quinto al Futurity con Tom Lyons, comproprietario dello stallone con Phil Yeckel, di Phoenix, Arizona, nel 1976 alle spalle del fratellastro Doc’s Remedy, nel 1977 fu finalista classificandosi quinto nel Jr Cutting all’ AQHA World Show. Nel 1978 arrivò quarto, nello stesso anno ottenne il COA e il Register of Merit, ottenendo 27 points in Performance. Visto le sue grandi qualità atletiche venne anche avviato al cow horse, dove dimostrò di essere un cavallo davvero polivalente. Durante la sua carriera sportiva Doc’s Oak vinse più di $70.000 in cutting e quasi $4.000 in Cow horse, con la NRCHA. Lo stallone baio era noto per il suo ottimo carattere, oltre che per il talento e il cow sense che trasmise anche ai suoi figli. In 26 anni di produzione, Docs Oak ha prodotto 1230 puledri, di cui 560 si sono distinti come performer.

Tra i suoi figli più famosi citiamo Docs Spinifex, stallone nato da una figlia di Docs Linx (3/4 fratello di Doc’s Oak), vincitore in cutting e stallone di successo esportato in Australia. Docs Freckles Oak, stallone nato da una figlia di Jewels Leo Bar, vincitore in cutting e stallone con un’ottima produzione in cutting e Reining. Shogun San, da Miss Kansas City da Rondo Leo, ha avuto un’ottima carriera nel cutting con un LTE di oltre $10.000. Smokum Oak, stallone sauro nato nel 1981 da Gunsmoke Ann, fu finalista al NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity nel 1984 ed è il padre di Smokums Prize, vincitore del NRCHA Open e Non Pro Snaffle Bit Futurity, diventando il tre anni con vincite più alte nella storia del Reined Cow Horse(NRCHA) (LTE over $217.000). Tra i tanti figli di Doc’s Oak con un’ottima carriera sportiva troviamo anche Docs Lone Oak, Cassies Oak, Okay Peppy,Docs Crackin Oak, Docs Oaks Sugar e Cowboy Desire. Lo stallone Doc’s Stilysh Oak, nato da Docs Stylish, una fattrice con show record in cutting figlia di Docs Prescription, è uno dei figli più più conosciuti di Doc’s Oak. Ncha money earner con un LTE di $65.979 e con figli vincitori nei maggiori eventi in cutting e cow horse. Docs Stylish Oak ha prodotto fattrici che a loro volta hanno prodotto ottimi soggetti, tra cui Peptos Stilysh Oak (da Peptoboonsmal) NCHA money earner e producer, Halreycious( da Dual Rey), NCHA Super Stakes Open Champion, Playin Stylish, Ncha money earner e altri stalloni performer come One Roan Peptos, Stylishlite e More than Stylish, tutti ottimi soggetti con show record di rilievo. Doc’s Oak ha prodotto anche fattrici molto qualitative, alcune si sono distinti anche in campo gare oltre che in razza come riproduttrici. Tra queste Sophie Oak, figlia di Lifesaver (by Mr Gunsmoke) #24 Leading NRHA Money Earner $111,840, NRHA Futurity 1986 OPEN Champion con Bob Loomis. Sophie Oak è stata importata nel 1986. Arcese la acquistò subito dopo che aveva vinto il Futurity NRHA con Bob Loomis, quello fu un anno di grandi cavalli considerando che al secondo posto ci fu Tim McQuay con Hollywood Dun It. Sophie Oak arrivò in Italia e vinse il Futuriy ed il Derby, sempre con Bob Loomis, poi iniziò la sua carriera di fattrice. Sophie Oak fu anche un’ ottima fattrice producendo cavalli quali Arc Blu Eyed Redskin (1996 ANCR Open Italian Champion e Derby Reserve Champion), Arc Joy Surprise madre degli stalloni Spat A Blue e Spat Split and White, Arc Just Like Oak, Arc Genuine Oak, Arc Surprise Oak e Arc Oak Enterprise, due volte World Champion con Martin Larcombe, Arc Doc Red Oak, Arc Playsophie e altri tra cui le ottime fattrici Arc Oh So Keen e Arc Oak Diamonds. Sr Great Oak ha prodotto ottimo soggetti tra cui ML The Greatest , ML Great Spirit e ML Greatawood, madre dello stallone AT Ale Wood. Doc’s Oak ha prodotto vincitori per oltre $8.632,69, la maggior parte dei quali vinti in cutting, ma i suoi figli e discendenti si sono distinti nel Reining e nel Cow horse e in generale in tutto le discipline western diventando un Leading sire di successo. Lo stallone baio entrò di diritto nella NCHA Hall of Fame.

Doc’s Oak, Bay stallion was foaled in 1973 in California in the Jensen breeding program, the owners of Doc Bar, by the great Doc Bar, AQHA Champion and AQHA Hall of Fame and out of Susies Bay, a bay mare by Poco Tivio. Susies Bay, was born in 1955, by Poco Tivio, Aqha Champion and out of the mare, Susie L, by Jess Hank, a King bred stud and an Harmon Baker mare. Susies Bay also produced with Doc Bar Doc’s Solano, AQHA Champion and sire with foals winning in Reining, Cutting and Working Cow Horse. The same cross has produced Docs Susie Que( ROM Halter), Docs Sweet Sue Ncha money earner and Docs Marmoset, Ncha Futurity and Derby Champion, AQHA World Junior Cutting Horse Champion and dam of the stallion Smart Little Uno, Ncha money earner and Ncha World Champion Jr cutting Horse, sire of Smart Little Pepinic, Ncha money Earner.

Doc’s Oak

Doc’s Oak started his cutting training at two and showed his talent and cow sense. He was qualified and won in all major events, he placed fifth at the Futurity after his half brother Docs Remedy with Tom Lyons, that was Co-Owner with Phil Yeckel of Phoenix, Arizona. In 1977 placed at the fifth place in the AQHA Eorld Show Jr Cutting . In 1978 placed fourth, then gained his COA and the Performance Register of Merit with 27 Performance points. Doc’s Oak was also showed in reined cow horse where he demonstrate all his athletic ability and cow sense. Doc’s Oak has a LTE of over 70 000 $ in cutting e almost 4000$ in Cow horse with NRCHA. The bay stallion was known for his quiet mind that passed along with his talent to his get and descendants. In 26 foal crops, Docs Oak produced 1230 foals, of which 560 performers. Among all his sons,Docs Spinifex, a stallion out of a mare by Docs Linx( 3/4 brother to Docs Oak), has winnings in the cutting pen and was exported to Austrslia where he become a breeding stallion. Docs Freckles Oak, a stud out of a Jewels Leo Bar mare, won a lot in the cutting pen and has sons and daughters winning in cutting and Reining. Shogun San, out of Miss Kansas City by Rondo Leo, was another performer with a LTE over 10.000$. Smokum Oak, a sorrel stallion born in 1981 out of Gunsmoke Ann, was a NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity finalist in 1984 and sired Smokums Prize, winner of the NRCHA Open and Non Pro Snaffle Bit Futurity, he was the 3 years old with the highest winnings in the Reined Cow Horse history (NRCHA) (LTE over 217.000$). Doc’s Oaks is also the sire of Docs Crackin Oak, Cassies Oak, Okay Peppy, Docs Lone Oak, Docs Oaks Sugar and Cowboy Desire.

Doc’s Stylish Oak

Another great one by him is the legendary Docs Stilysh Oak, out of the great mare Docs Stylish, a mare with show record by Docs Prescription. He’s one of the best sons of the great Docs Oak with a Ncha LTE of $65.979 and his son and daughters winning in cutting and reined cow horse. Docs Stylish Oak sired good broodmares that have produced well, just to mention Peptos Stilysh Oak (by Peptoboonsmal) NCHA money earner and producer, Halreycious (by Dual Rey), NCHA Super Stakes Open Champion, Playin Stylish Ncha money earner and many more performers like One Roan Peptos, Stylishlite and More than Stylish.

Docs Oak sired also great broodmares like Sophie Oak, daughter of Lifesaver (by Mr. Gun Smoke) # 24 Leading NRHA Money Earner $ 111.840, NRHA Futurity Champion 1986 OPEN with Bob Loomis. Sophie Oak was imported in 1986. Arcese bought her just after she had won the NRHA Futurity with Bob Loomis, that was a year of great horses whereas the second place there was Tim McQuay with Hollywood Dun It. Sophie Oak arrived in Italy and won the Futuriy and Derby, always Bob Loomis, then began his career as a broodmare.
